Where is Cagayan de Oro? It is also known as the City of Golden Friendship is the capital of the province of Misamis Oriental, the regional center for Northern Mindanao. A young metropolis compared to various highly urbanized cities in the Philippines, Cagayan de Oro has a number of inhabitants of over 460,000 in 200,000 families. Initially chartered as a metropolis as “Cagayan de Misamis,” its identify was eventually changed to “Cagayan de Oro” in acceptance of the gold mining actions in the area recognised by Spanish explorers. It works as foundation for each local and multi-national companies, which includes Del Monte Philippines, Nestle, Coke and Pepsi Company.
